Looking after it

Roll the ladder up straight rather than bundling it, so the rungs lie flat next time. Rinse off mud and let everything dry before it goes back in the bag, and count all four steel stakes back in before you leave the pitch or garden.

Agility ladder, 12 cones and a kick trainer, all in one bag

A 6m agility ladder with 12 rungs, six yellow and six orange cones, a neoprene kick trainer and four steel stakes, for children and adults.

A football training kit for players, parents and coaches who want structured footwork and ball work without a pile of loose gear. It suits children and adults.

In the bag: a 6m agility ladder with 12 rungs, 12 cones (six yellow, six orange), a football kick trainer and four steel stakes to hold the ladder down.

Use the ladder and cones for acceleration, turning and lateral movement, and the kick trainer for passing, dribbling and first touch when there is nobody to kick to.

Football Training Kit

Much of what makes a player quick happens in the feet, and footwork improves with short, regular sessions. This kit puts the pieces for that in one bag, ready for a garden, a school yard or the side of a club pitch.

Football Training Kit

The agility ladder is 6m long with 12 rungs, made from heavy-duty nylon and PE. On grass, four steel stakes pin it flat, which keeps the drill accurate and stops the ladder sliding underfoot.

Football Training Kit

The twelve cones come in two colours, six yellow and six orange. With two colours a coach can call one mid-drill, so players react instead of running a pattern they already know.

Football Training Kit

The kick trainer is neoprene and fastens with an adjustable waist belt, so it fits children and adults. It keeps the ball close to the player, which means more touches in a session and less time spent fetching the ball.

Football Training Kit

Ladders and cones work across plenty of sports, so the kit earns its place in rugby, basketball and tennis sessions too. Squads and PE departments that need several kits can ask for a quote through our wholesale page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the kit?

A 6m agility ladder with 12 rungs, 12 cones (six yellow and six orange), one football kick trainer, four steel stakes and a carry bag.

Is a football included?

No. The kit does not include a ball, so use your own in the right size for the player.

How long is the agility ladder?

6m, with 12 rungs. It is made from heavy-duty nylon and PE.

What are the steel stakes for?

They pin the ladder to grass so it stays flat and does not slide under a player's feet.

Do I need the stakes on a hard surface?

No. On a hall floor, tarmac or an artificial pitch, leave the stakes in the bag. The ladder lies flat on its own.

Why are the cones two colours?

Six yellow and six orange let a coach call a colour during a drill. The player has to react and choose, which is closer to a match than a fixed pattern.

What does the kick trainer do?

It is a neoprene trainer on an adjustable waist belt that keeps the ball close to the player. You get many more touches for passing, dribbling and receiving, without chasing the ball each time.

Will the kick trainer fit a child and an adult?

Yes. The waist belt is adjustable, so it suits children and adults.

What football training equipment gives the best value for a school?

Kit that more than one sport can use. The ladder and cones here suit football, rugby, basketball and tennis sessions, and the bag keeps everything together between classes. For several kits, ask for a quote on our /wholesale/ page.

How do I choose football training equipment on a small budget?

Start with a ladder, cones and a ball, since they cover most footwork and ball drills. This kit gives you the first two plus a kick trainer for €79, with free standard delivery.

Does regular drill work improve a team's performance?

Regular footwork and ball work builds coordination and touch, and over a season that shows in matches. The kit makes short sessions easy to set up; the improvement comes from doing them.

What age can children start using football drill equipment?

Children can start simple ladder and cone drills from around six, with an adult supervising and setting drills to their level. Keep the rungs slow and the patterns simple at first.

Can I rent this kit for a camp or short season?

We sell the kit rather than rent it. Clubs and camps that need several can ask for a quote through /wholesale/.

Is it easy to take to training or on holiday?

Yes. Everything packs into the one carry bag, so it goes in a car boot or over a shoulder to the pitch.

Can I use it for general fitness training?

Yes. Ladder and cone drills are standard conditioning work in many sports, and adults use them for general fitness too.

Is it useful for goalkeepers?

Ladder work is useful for goalkeeper footwork. Shot-stopping needs a goal and someone to serve the ball, and neither is part of this kit.

How do I store and look after the kit?

Roll the ladder rather than bundling it, rinse off mud, and let everything dry before it goes back in the bag. Store it somewhere dry and out of strong sun.

How can I work on kicking accuracy with this kit?

Set pairs of cones as gates and pass through them with your own ball, narrowing the gap as you improve. The kick trainer helps with clean contact on short passes.

How often will the kit need replacing?

It depends on use and care. Replace the ladder if rungs crack or straps fray, and a cone if it splits. Rolling, drying and bagging after each session helps everything last longer.

Can I use it for team practice?

Yes. Run the ladder as one station while the cones mark out passing or dribbling drills. With twelve cones you can set up two small stations at once.

What safety steps should I take with this kit?

Lay the ladder on flat ground, stake it on grass, and check for twisted rungs before each session. Warm up first, supervise children, and count all four stakes back into the bag afterwards.

Can I use it indoors?

The ladder and cones work in a sports hall or on a gym floor without the stakes. The kick trainer needs clear space for the ball to travel.

How durable is the kit?

The ladder is heavy-duty nylon and PE and the kick trainer is neoprene. How long it lasts depends on care, so roll, dry and bag it after each session.

Can I use it for tactical work?

The cones are handy for marking zones, channels and shapes. The kit has no tactics board or bibs, so add those if tactics are your focus.

What training equipment does a youth team need?

Cones, a ladder and balls of the right size cover most youth sessions. This kit supplies the ladder and cones, plus a kick trainer for individual work.

Can beginners use the same kit as experienced players?

Yes. Ladders and cones are used at every level. Beginners run slower, simpler patterns on the same kit.

What is the best drill for speed?

Ladder work for quick feet and coordination, followed by short sprints between two cones for acceleration.

Is this a good kit for home use?

Yes. It suits a back garden, and it packs away into its bag when you are done.

How much does this football training kit cost?

€79, reduced from €99. That is over €75, so standard delivery in Ireland is free.

What types of football drill equipment are there?

Ladders, cones, hurdles, rebounders, kick trainers and tackle bags are the common ones. This kit combines a ladder, cones and a kick trainer.

How does drill equipment help a player improve?

It makes it easy to repeat the same footwork and ball skills often and correctly. That repetition is what carries over into a match.

Is it suitable for other sports?

Yes. Agility ladders and cones are used in rugby, basketball, tennis and general fitness as well as football.

How much space do I need?

The ladder is 6m long, so allow a little more than that to run in and out of it. Cone drills fit most gardens.

Can I use it on artificial grass?

Yes. Leave the stakes out, as the ladder lies flat without them.

Can I leave the kit out in the garden?

It is better not to. Stakes get lost, cones get mown and the ladder wears faster left out in the weather.

Can I return the kit?

Yes. You can return it for a change of mind within 15 days of purchase, in its original packaging with proof of purchase, and you pay the return postage. Irish and EU law also give you 14 days from delivery to withdraw from an online purchase. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items are put right at no cost.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, free of charge, as long as the order has not been dispatched. Email theteam@customersupport.care with your order number.

I haven't received my order yet. Is it lost?

Orders are handled within 2 working days, then allow up to 7 working days for delivery. Items in one order can arrive in separate parcels. If something is late or missing, email theteam@customersupport.care with your order number and we will look into it.

How do I know if my order has shipped?

Every order is tracked. We email you the tracking number as soon as the parcel ships.

Do you have a shop I can visit?

No. Outdoor Sports Company Ireland is an online store only, with no physical shop.

Do I get a receipt for my order?

Yes. We email a receipt once payment is made, and a second email with your tracking number follows when the order ships.

What are the delivery options and how long does delivery take?

Standard delivery across Ireland is free on orders of €75 or more after discounts, and €25 below that. Express delivery is an optional €25 upgrade on any order. Orders are handled within 2 working days; allow up to 7 working days for delivery. Every order is tracked.

What currency are your prices in?

All prices are in euro (€).

Which payment methods do you accept?

You can pay by card through Stripe, or with PayPal.

How to run football drills at home with a ladder, cones and a kick trainer

5 min read Outdoor Sports Company

What drill equipment is for

Club sessions are built around the team: shape, patterns, set pieces and a game at the end. The individual work, such as quick feet, a clean first touch and turning on either foot, improves best with short, frequent practice, often alone or in a small group.

Drill equipment gives that practice a structure. Twenty minutes in a garden or a school yard gets spent on something specific instead of kicking a ball against a wall.

The pieces that matter most

Agility ladder

The ladder trains foot speed, rhythm and coordination. The one in this kit is 6m long with 12 rungs, which is long enough for a proper run through rather than three steps and a stop. Four steel stakes hold it flat on grass.

Cones

Cones mark out gates, channels, slaloms and turning points. This kit has twelve, in two colours: six yellow and six orange. That second colour is more useful than it looks, as you will see below.

Something that keeps the ball coming back

Ball work alone is hard when the ball keeps running off. A rebounder is one answer. The kick trainer in this kit is another: it is made of neoprene and fastens with an adjustable waist belt, so the ball stays close and a player gets far more touches in a session.

Kit you may add later

Resistance bands, speed parachutes, training bibs and a goal all have a place in a full programme. None of them are in this kit, and none are needed to start.

Choosing what to buy

Start with the goal. For speed and footwork, a ladder and cones. For touch and control, something that returns the ball. For team drills, cones and bibs.

Then think about who is training. Younger players need simpler patterns, more space between drills and an adult setting things up. Older players and adults can run faster, more complex ladder patterns with the same kit.

Finally, think about how often it will be used. Kit that goes out three times a week needs to pack away quickly, or it stops going out at all. That is the point of a single carry bag.

A 20-minute session that works

Five minutes on the ladder

Two feet in each rung, then one foot per rung, then lateral in and out. Slow and correct beats fast and messy.

Five minutes of cone work with a ball

A simple slalom through the cones, using both feet. Then the same again with a turn at the end.

Five minutes with the kick trainer

Short passes and control, alternating feet. Count the touches and try to beat the number next time.

Five minutes of their choice

This is the part that makes a young player want to come back tomorrow.

Using the two cone colours

Set up a yellow gate and an orange gate a few metres apart. As the player sets off, call a colour. They now have to read, decide and move, instead of running a pattern they already know.

That one change makes a drill look much more like a match. For younger children, it also turns a drill into a game.

Ladder technique that carries over

Keep the eyes up. A player staring at the rungs is not learning anything they can use in a match.

Stay on the balls of the feet, with quiet, quick contacts.

Let the arms work. Stiff arms slow the whole movement down.

Stop when it gets sloppy. Tired footwork drills teach tired footwork.

Setting up and packing away

On grass, push the four steel stakes in to hold the ladder flat. On a hard floor or artificial pitch, leave them in the bag, as the ladder lies flat without them.

When you finish, count the stakes back into the bag every time. A steel stake left in a lawn is hard to spot and will find a mower sooner or later. Roll the ladder rather than bundling it so the rungs stay straight.
