This policy explains how Outdoor Sports Company Ireland, a division of Caruso Consulting Co Ltd ("we", "us" or "our"), uses cookies and similar technology on outdoorsports.irish. Please read it with our privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. Browser storage (such as local storage) and tags do similar jobs. In this policy we call all of them "cookies".

Essential storage

These are needed for the site to work, so they do not need your consent:

Your basket. The items in your cart are saved in your browser's local storage, so they are still there if you leave and come back. This stays on your device.
Your cookie choice. When you accept or decline cookies, we save that choice in your browser so we do not ask again on every page.
Checkout. When you pay, Stripe or PayPal may set their own cookies on their payment pages to keep the payment secure and prevent fraud.

Analytics and advertising cookies

We use Google Analytics to see how people find and use the site, and the Google Ads tag to measure whether our ads lead to orders. When allowed, these set Google cookies such as _ga and _gcl_au, which record things like the pages you visit, how long you stay, your device type and whether you arrived from an ad.

How your consent works

We use Google Consent Mode. The Google tag loads on every page for every visitor. What changes is the consent setting it starts with.

In Ireland and the rest of the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, consent starts as denied. No analytics or advertising cookies are set until you choose. While consent is denied, Google may still receive basic signals sent without cookies, such as that a page was loaded.
Our cookie banner lets you Accept or Decline. If you accept, analytics and advertising cookies are turned on. If you decline, they stay off.
Visitors in other countries start with consent granted and usually do not see the banner, but can still decline at any time.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link, which is also in the footer of every page.

Chat and tracking widgets

The chat window on our site is run by IntellextAI, and the tracking box on our Track Your Parcel page is run by 17TRACK. These services may use their own cookies or browser storage to work, under their own privacy and cookie policies.

Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually from the privacy or security menu. If you block essential storage, your basket and checkout may not work properly.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
